Have you ever woken up with a game plan, only to be diverted with another task?
I woke up a little before 5:00am this morning, ready to tackle a to-do list a mile high.
However, I got side-tracked cleaning out my garage as we are having new plantation shutters made by a patient who does incredible work, and they will be installed in a few weeks.
Our garage has become a catch-all since we are still painting and making improvements around the house (almost 4 months in the making now).
Anyway, I finally finished cleaning out and re-organizing the garage, even though it looked like I only made a small dent, yet it was a 5-hour diversion.
In addition, it was not even on my to do list today.
What does this story have to do with your health?
Well, sometimes you may make some type of investment in your health to achieve a desired effect, but your body seems to get 'diverted' and does something else that you did not expect.
For example, you might have a desire to lose weight, so you start a new exercise routine, however, instead of losing weight, you gain weight.
Or maybe you have been eating a bunch of junk lately, so you go on a detox cleanse to help you feel better, but you feel worse after you start the cleanse.
Or maybe you have back pain, so you get an adjustment, and it feels better immediately after the treatment, however, the next day you feel worse.
Your body is a self-regulating, self-healing organism that will always do what it needs to do to bring your body back to homeostasis.
In the process, you may feel better, worse, or no different at all, as your body does what it needs to do to keep you alive and well… but understand that it may not act or do what you want it to do.
So, what is the takeaway you need to understand today?
You may not have control of what your body wants to do at times, however, your daily habits, lifestyle, and health choices you make on a moment by moment basis DOES have a major influence on your health.
The more you invest in your health, the better chances you have of seeing your body respond the way you want it to.
The question I have for you is, "What healthy choice can you make today that will help your body respond positively tomorrow?"
Have a GREAT Thursday!
