Last night, Ali and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary at the best burger joint in Orlando, a little hole in the wall called Beth’s Burgers.
I know it’s not the most romantic restaurant in the world to celebrate on such an occasion, but when I told her to choose the place she wanted to eat, she was in the mood for burger and fries.
Yesterday also happened to be the start of the world’s largest event for the chiropractic profession at the Florida Chiropractic Convention so we are killing two birds with one stone.
We’re making the most of our time here—I'm attending workshops and classes, while Ali enjoys some much-needed relaxation by the pool, catching up on work that’s hard to do while homeschooling the little ones.
After our meal, Ali started experiencing some pain and pressure in her stomach area, making it hard for her to breathe. Now, you might be thinking, "Well, after indulging in a burger and fries, who wouldn’t feel that way?" But this wasn’t your typical post-meal discomfort. It was a different kind of pressure.
So when we got back to our room, I started working on areas of her back and side that were tightened from scar tissue and the pressure released where she could breathe normal again.
I know this sounds unconventional from mainstream medicine but FUNCTION follows FORM.
In other words, when you have tissue dysfunction due to adhesive scar tissue it can hinder how your body works, not just on a musculoskeletal level, but even the function of organs and systems in the body.
Yesterday, at one of the workshops I attended, one of the keynote speakers talked about how TISSUE DYSFUNCTION or CELL SENESCENCE is one of the five causes of accelerated aging.
It was encouraging to hear a researcher acknowledge this concept that I have been telling my patients for the past three decades, complete with a PubMed study to back it up.
I have a lot more to say on this subject and plan on giving a presentation on this topic at my office in the very near future. If you’re interested in learning more on this topic, reply to this e-mail so we can keep you informed on our upcoming presentation.
Have a Fabulous Friday!
