The past two weekends I set out on a task to do some work around the yard.
When we moved into this house about 3 years ago, everything in the yard was in really good shape.
However, over time, weeds started to creep in to the point where they took over everything.
I eventually hired someone to remove the weeds, but after a long rainy season there is unsightly growth in one particular area that was completely out of control.
Two weeks ago, I thought it would be a quick thing for me to just resolve myself, but the yard work ended up dominating most of my past two Saturdays.
The funny thing is that no one ever planted these weeds, they just sprung up on their own.
They do not need maintenance, fertilizing, watering, trimming or anything whatsoever.
They just show up and grow without you having to do anything.
The same thing happens with your health.
Weeds just show up in your health and the next thing you know, they take over and slowly start to squeeze the 'health' out of you.
You know the weeds about which I am talking.
They usually pop up at times when we are the most occupied or most stressed.
You stop going for that regular walk you used to take because you don't have the energy to do it.
You 'need' that routine bowl of ice cream or some other treat to satisfy you after dinner.
You don't have time for the most important relationships in your life because you're 'too busy.'
Maybe it's time you take a look at the weeds that have overtaken the garden of your health and consider doing a little weeding.
Have a Super Saturday!
